James E. Rogers, Chairman, President and CEO of Duke Energy, will serve as the keynote speaker for the ARCS Conference opening dinner on Wednesday, May 16th at Yale University.

Rogers has served as a CEO in the utility industry for over 23 years. In addition, Ma Jun, Executive Director of the Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs, and a leading expert on supply chains in China, will be the dinner speaker on Thursday, May 17th by video from Beijing. Ma Jun is a Yale World Fellow, and also was named by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2006. This year’s ARCS Conference is sponsored by The Center for Business and the Environment at Yale.

ARCS Conference luncheon speakers are Commissioner Dan Esty of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection on May 17th, and Mark Vachon, Vice President of Ecomagination at GE on May 18th.

The ARCS Conference brings together scholars from a variety of disciplinary and methodological perspectives interested in advancing research on corporate sustainability. It will be preceded on May 16 by the first ARCS Sustainability Teaching Summit – From Classrooms to Boardrooms: Embedding Sustainability Research in Curriculum and Corporate Strategy, to showcase and discuss the latest available pedagogical approaches, tools and materials.
